Professor Barbara Roos, of the Film and Video Production major, was named a “Professor of Distinction” by Omicron Delta Kappa, a national leadership honors society.

She was nominated by student DeLain Bomer III, circle president of ODK at GVSU and a School of Communications student studying Film and Video Production and Advertising and Public Relations.

“Professor Roos always has her students in mind and helps them reach their full potential by combining their interests with professional aspirations,” Bomer said.

ODK started naming Faculty of Distinction last year. The first year saw 20 faculty honored, with Danielle Leek, Karen Libman, and Tim Penning from the School of Communications among the first group. ODK will name honor one faculty member each year from now on.

Roos was recognized at a breakfast meeting that was part of Campus Leadership Week.
