The Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and a number of partner associations have launched today an effort to re-define “public relations.”

Meanwhile, Dr. Tim Penning, associate professor of Advertising and Public Relations in the GVSU School of Communications, has offered his own commentary on historical efforts to define the field of public relations and what should be considered in the current attempt to update that definition.
