Grand Rapids Advertising Professional to Speak on Non-Profit Branding. Event is Part of ‘SoC HOPP’ Series

Grand Valley State University’s School of Communications is hosting a local advertising veteran to speak about nonprofit branding.

Bill McKendry, Founder and Chief Creative Officer of Hanon-McKendry Integrated Brand Connections, will give a speech titled “Do More Good,” which is the title of McKendry’s new book. The speech will take place on Tuesday, January 31, 2012, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Grand Valley’s Loosemore Auditorium on the downtown Grand Rapids campus. The event is free and open to the public.

Hanon-McKendry is the largest multi-platform branding company in Michigan outside of Detroit.  McKendry will focus his speech on non-profit branding and how to cultivate, build, and position a brand, while crafting a message that is compelling and motivating for the non-profit sector.

McKendry’s speech is part of a series of events the School of Communications is sponsoring known as “SOC HOPP”: School of Communications, Hear Other Professors and Professionals. The purpose is to provide more interaction among students, faculty and the community on common communication subjects.

  • March 1: John Truscott discussing political communication. Cook-DeVos Health Science Center, 119 – Hager Auditorium. 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.
