In October of 2013, college students from all over the state participated in The Yardsticks advertising competition. Students worked to design their own campaign for Bagger Dave’s Legendary Burger Tavern and the opportunity to produce their work. The finalists include GVSU students Rachel Hurst, Alec Aja, Dillon Platto, Luke Neumann, Allison Supron and Lauren Supron.
On Friday, January 10 the finalists will present their new Bagger Dave’s campaign to Lindsay Thayer, field marketing manager, and Michael Ansley, CEO of Diversified Restaurant Holdings and founder of Bagger Dave’s. Ansley is also the founder and visionary behind Buffalo Wild Wings restaurants.
The six Advertising majors created the new campaign by combining the strongest parts of their original Bagger Dave’s work. The students have been working on the new campaign since the Yardstick’s competition on October 23.
The next steps will be to produce the advertisements, billboards, point of sale, and guerrilla tactics pending approval of the campaign by Thayer and Ansley. Students will work with the supervision from Diversified Restaurant Holdings and Frank Blossom, Professor of Advertising in the SoC.
