At least two alumni of the GVSU School of Communications Advertising and Public Relations major are involved in Super Bowl advertising this year.

Josh Cassidy, a copywriter at InnOcean in Santa Monica, California, was part of the creative that produced a spot for Hyundai that will air in the first half of the SuperBowl game.

Meanwhile, Jocelyn Goldberg, an Interactive Strategist at Weiden + Kennedy, will be coordinating the Coca Cola War Room creating real time social media engagement to generate buzz for Coke during the game. Goldberg did the same during the Super Bowl in 2013 as recounted in this article on Creativity.

In many of Monday’s advertising and public relations classes, students will be using Super Bowl ads as a topic of discussion. The discussion and its educational application will be much more real knowing that some of the students who went before them are directly involved in creating the ads that appear in the Super Bowl in 2014.
