Multimedia Journalism Professor Will Interview ACLU Michigan Reporter

March 29th at 4pm in the Cook-DeWitt Center, the Multimedia Journalism Program welcomes American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU)-Michigan investigative reporter Curt Guyette. He will be interviewed by Multimedia Journalism Assistant Professor Eric Harvey about his reporting on the Flint Water crisis. In 2015, he was awarded the Michigan Press Association’s “Journalist of the Year” prize. Before the Flint crisis made international news, Guyette was knocking on residents´ doors, asking them to test the lead levels in their water, and publishing his reporting on the ACLU’s website. The Columbia Journalism Review detailsa timeline of his reporting

Since then, Guyette has appeared on the Rachel Maddow Show and other talk shows to talk about his reporting, which is funded by a Ford Foundation grant. Guyette will discuss his role with the ACLU, the importance of investigative and advocacy journalism, and the ongoing work to be done uncovering the origins of Flint’s crisis.
